  I've been curious to hear where Jenny Lewis would take Rilo Kiley after her rootsy folk collaboration with the Watson Twins. On their first single, Jenny sleazes things up with a slice of pr0n funk/rock. Honestly, I'm not sure what this portends for the rest of the album but I'm looking forward to hearing it.

  Eisley has been totally under my radar this year until I heard their excellent new single, which might be the best song I've heard from them yet. You can stream it on their site, which has been ripped to a downloadable form by someone here (MP3).
  
  
• Shout Out Louds - Tonight I Have to Leave It (MP3)
  The first single from Stockholm's Shout Out Louds upcoming Merge debut full-length, 'Our Ill Wills' sounds quite a bit like The Cure. Btw, if you haven't checked out the balearic remake of "Impossible", you are missing out.
  
  
• Eve feat. Sean Paul - Give It To You (mp3)
  I prefer the demo version I heard earlier without Sean Paul. Nevertheless, this is sure to be a pretty hot single. [via thefader]. Don't forget to check out her first single, Tambourine, as well as the Jay-Z remix.

  ...about CBGB's closing, the evolution of music, and Lily Allen, among other things.
