Take a listen to this early Shins single, 'When I Goose-Step', from 2000, which was b/w The Gloating Sun. The shimmering guitar, nostalgic tone, and subtly march-like drums provide a glimpse of the unique, beautiful music that the Shins would come to produce in the ensuing years.
