Sea of Bees is self-taught multi-instrumentalist Julie Baenziger and her clever blend of indie rock, folk, psychedelia, and twee pop. The album is unpredictable in a pleasant way, with sounds ranging from Sparklehorse to Beth Gibbons to Leigh Nash to Joanna Newsom. 'Songs for the Ravens' is quickly rising among my favorite albums of the year.
