Asthmatic Kitty served cease and desist notice for Sufjan Stevens: Illinois artwork
If you have tried to pre-order the Sufjan Stevens: Illinois LP at Asthmatic Kitty, you will have difficulty, not because it is selling out (which it is or should be), but because DC Comics issued a cease and desist order to Asthmatic Kitty regarding the image of Superman on the cover of the LP! As a result, they will have to redo all of the album art. If you were able to get an early copy of the CD, it appears you now have a valuable collector's item. As for procrastinators like me, you will have to wait for this to get sorted out in the next few weeks. (Although the Amazon release date has not been moved back yet, I suspect it will in light of this.)The contested album cover

Unfortunately we've had to stop selling Illinois due to an legal issue concerning the artwork. We'll post info here on the site when we're reasonably certain about the situation.
