NME: Top 100 British Albums
NME: Top 100 British Albums(This site only has the top 20)
Ordinarily, I would rant on such a pathetic list. However, I think this atrocity of a list speaks for itself. Possible explanations:
1) This is actually an early April Fools Day issue.
2) Stonehenge. Aliens.
3) Written by Kate Moss after NME writer passed out at a coke party.
4) Written by Pete Doherty after NME writer passed out at a coke party.

Yeah...
These lists always make me laugh. I have heard the Arctic Monkeys CD and I like it. However, to call it the fifth best album is a complete and utter farce.
That said, I would probably place The Queen is Dead in my top 5. Would I place Wire's Pink Flag as low as 83? Never...
The people who compiled this list should save the list-making for people who listen to music.

I can't really understand the basis of this list. Where's the usual OK Computer love fest? My top 5 would be OK Computer, Revolver, London Calling, Odessey and Oracle, and Unknown Pleasures (which still leaves off The Stones, Roxy Music, The Cure, and The Smiths, damn).

Hi.
I'm...blog surfing, I suppose. Interesting list.
I think a few of them are okay, I haven't heard a lot of these albums, and the rest are.. interesting choices? I dunno what my list would be, but djmonstermo has something of a good thing going on.
peace.

how is franz ferdinand better than ANY beatles or smiths albums?? this list is godawful
By , at 2/15/2006 10:12:00 AM
ok, we forgot the beatles, led zeppelin, pink floyd, the rolling stones, elton john, wings as well as countless others who have sold a lot more albums than any of the bands on this list, hence they are more popular, hence they are better

So... there aer 100 British albums that are better than Sgt. Pepper and Abbey Road. hmm, somehow I doubt that.
