New Thievery Corporation featuring Perry Farrell
This is a selection from the eagerly anticipated fourth LP from Thievery Corporation. 'The Cosmic Game' is an expansive downtempo work of art, blurring the lines between rock, breaks, bossa nova, dub, and psychedelia. It features excellent collaborations with The Flaming Lips, Perry Farrell (of Jane's Addiction and Porno for Pyros fame), and David Byrne (of the Talking Heads), as well as Thievery's always diverse cast of dancehall MC's, smokey-voiced chanteuses, and Brazilian percussionists. Thievery Corp. - Revolution Solution (ft. Perry Farrell)
'Revolution Solution' is Thievery's collaboration with Perry Farrell, a dubby anthem featuring an unexpectedly, uncannily soulful Farrell. It's a song fit for lazy afternoons in the hammock, smoke-filled cigar rooms, and trendy, dimly-lit lounges. The beautiful dubby flava almost makes you think another Perry was involved, Lee Perry, rather than Perry Farrell. This is a testament to the Thievery's skills in sonic manipulation and production and Perry Farrell's vocal adaptability.
