- Can't believe I've been online with this blog for a whole year. Almost 400,000 unique visitors later, still going strong. Love ya'll
- Honda human sound effects ad [via Amy's Robot]
This is one of the coolest ads I've seen recently.
- Desaparecidos - Suvival of the Fittest / It's a Jungle Out There
A brief update to continue my series of posts on old projects / side projects: Desaparecidos was Conor Oberst's side project during his almost two-year hiatus from Bright Eyes. Desaparecidos is louder and grungier than Bright Eyes but equally angsty.
- Cam'Ron - You Got It
Cam'Ron dissing Jay-Z? Ouch. Apparently, he has flow problems and math problems. Hov is 37, not 42. Hov won this battle without responding. Tracks like "Heart of the City" address this kind of garbage already. If Hov's "Takeover" is TNT and Nas' "Ether" is an A-bomb, this is a dud firecracker.
- Liz Durrett - The Mezzanine
Liz, whoever you are, I almost deleted this. I am so glad I didn't. This is really lovely. Her site.
- A couple of tracks from The Exit:
The Exit - Soldier
The Exit - Don't Push
The Exit, who are from New York, caught a lot of buzz with the release of
their album “Home For An Island” and their first single entitled “Don’t
Push”. The Exit is now putting forth a 2nd single (and video for)
“Soldier”.
- Seedy Gonzalez - Page 28
I don't know. Lou Reed-ish. This reminds me of Jim Carrol's People Who Died.
- Seedy Gonzalez - Love’s Theosophy
- Ghostbusters as an animated gif
This is amazing.
- The Beastie Boys Madison Square Garden video project
- Google, U.S. Clash Over Online Searches
- Soul legend Wilson Pickett dies of heart attack at 64
